Custom Foot Orthotics
Once your Family Doctor diagnosis you with a condition and prescribes orthotics, a biomechanical exam will be performed by our Certified Pedorthist. Pedorthists are healthcare professionals trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and muscle and joint function. They specialize in the fabrication of custom made orthotics, as well as modifying and determining the optimal fit of orthopedic footwear. Orthotics can be designed to help with a range of conditions including:
- Arthritis
- Diabetes
- Plantar fasciitis (Heel pain)
- Bunion deformities
- Metatarsalgia
- Achilles tendonitis
After the Pedorthist performs the biomechanical gait analysis, patients will be cast by either using plaster bandage or our CAD/CAM Technology system. Both methods provide a three dimensional, subtalar neutral, semi-weight bearing position resulting in a completely custom cast of each foot in a corrective position. The orthotics will then be fabricated using materials that best suit the patients’ foot type.
