Dr. Rishi Mehta, Licensed Naturopath
During his undergraduate studies in science, he became very interested in nutrition and plant sciences. These courses highlighted the impact that these fields could have in promoting human health and treating various health conditions. After completing his university studies, he became very interested in natural medicine and decided to pursue a career in Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
In addition to completing clinical courses and rotations within the community, he has also participated with fellow naturopathic practitioners in publishing articles for both the Vital Link journal and the Integrative Healthcare Practitioner magazine. Dr. Rishi Mehta is currently a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
In his clinical practice, patients appreciate the dietary and/or supplement approaches to improving their health. In addition, some of the treatments related to muscle and joint pain have been very beneficial with a hands-on or acupuncture approach. He works with people of all ages from children to seniors.
Conditions most frequently seen include:
● Muscle and joint pain
● Weight management
● Migraines
● Constipation
● High blood pressure
● Allergic rhinitis
● Anxiety/depression
● High cholesterol
● Female health concerns
● Male health concerns
For all health conditions, he takes great care that these are assessed, diagnosed, and appropriately treated. As a naturopathic practitioner, helping to emphasize prevention and disease management is a priority. Depending on the situation, the naturopathic treatments with the best available evidence will be incorporated relative to your health condition(s).
Educating patients about their health condition(s) has been central in the approach to patient care. Being able to use nutrition to help prevent and manage health conditions is very advantageous. This can have a tremendous impact in supporting health and reducing the risk of disease.
When Dr. Rishi is not in the office, he enjoys spending time in nature and with family and friends or enjoying a good movie.
